Series: Kingston Ale House #3
Publication Date: October 17, 2016
Genres: Adult, Entangled: Select, Contemporary Romance

She’s holding out for a happy ever after.

Annie
I know where to find my happily ever after—between the pages of a romance novel. It’s why I sell books, why I blog about them, and why I’ll never get disappointed by love.So what if my brother’s best friend from high school is now a bestselling author? Or that he just blew back into town on a Harley, filling out a pair of jeans like he never did before? Or that he’s agreed to do a signing at my bookstore on such short notice? Because despite all his adoring female fans, I kind of hated his book.
Wes
The last time I saw Annie Denning, she was a senior in high school, three years older than me and way out of my league.
Now I’m her last-minute date to a wedding, and what started as a night of pure fun has turned into something more real than either of us anticipated.
Annie is my muse. When I’m with her, my writer’s block fades away, and the words finally flow.
The only problem? She wants the fairy tale—her very own happily ever after—and anyone who’s read my book knows the truth. I just don’t believe they exist.

But Jamie has loved Brynn for as long as he can remember, and now that he's ready to tell her, she has her sights set on someone else. Knowing this is his last chance, he asks Brynn to go on a two-week road trip. #SixMonths
She created the game, but the rules are about to change.

The second I met Will Evans in his three-piece suit with that hot as hell British accent, I wanted him.

That is...until he insulted my shoes and stole my corner office.

Now I have to work side-by-side with the surly British arsehole who just set my career back six months.

It's fine. That accent won't get to me, no matter how sexy it sounds when he asks permission to do things professionals shouldn't do. On the couch. In the corner office I still wish was mine.

Maybe we can't keep our hands off each other, but I'm sure as hell not falling for a guy who lives an ocean away. Because in six months, he's leaving for good.

I don't do broken hearts, but you know what they say...

There's a first time for everything.

Each book in the Kingston Ale House series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

“I think we have time for a couple more questions,” Wes said as he looked out onto a sea of smiling, beautiful faces. One of the perks of the job for sure.

A hand shot up from the center of the crowd, and Wes nodded toward the woman. She stood, blond waves tumbling over her shoulders and directing his eyes right to where her breasts swelled beneath her shape-hugging sweater.

His lips curved upward. She glanced down to where his gaze rested below her eyes and offered a coy smile of her own. Then she surveyed his form, starting from his head and traveling lazily to just below the belt. She raised her brows with what felt to him like approval. She glanced up, and he met her stare with unabashed boldness.

“You…have a question?” he asked.

“Yes,” she answered without hesitation. “Your hero, Ethan, is a very skilled lover in Down This Road. Tell me, do you write from experience or just base those scenes on extensive—research?”

He flashed her a roguish smile and leaned back against the signing table, running a hand through his light brown waves.

“I like to think of experience as research,” he said. “And I’m always looking to learn something new—for the sake of the next book, of course.”

The woman narrowed her stare and pressed her lips into a knowing smile.

“The oral sex!” a petite brunette with a pixie cut blurted from her seat before he could ask for the last question, and gasps and murmurs echoed among the seated crowd. “The oral sex scenes were my favorite,” she said with a slight tremble in her voice. “He wasn’t just a skilled lover but an attentive one. I think that’s one of the reasons why all those women were forgiving of his inability to commit. Because—because—”

“The oral sex,” Wes said, finishing her thought, and she nodded vigorously.

His agent, Max, shot up from his stool at the bar. “And, that’s it for questions, ladies. Let’s give Mr. Hartley here a few minutes to grab a drink, and then he’ll be signing for those of you who purchased books.”

Max ushered him toward the bar as he thanked the crowd for their patience.

“You really are an asshole,” Max said. “Seriously. You’ve fucking ruined sex for those of us with wives and partners who expect us to be able to do what Ethan can do. If you didn’t pack houses like this with readers willing to throw their money at you, I’d cut you loose right now.”

Wes ordered his drink and laughed. “I could do a how-to manual next if you want. Maybe a YouTube video? Or how about this? If you’re doing it wrong, ask her how the hell you can do it right.”

“Fuck you,” Max said. “It’s not that easy.”

Wes raised a brow. “Have you ever asked your wife what she likes?”

Max laughed. “You mean other than her personal shopper at Bloomingdales?” He went silent for a moment, and then his eyes widened. “Jesus, you’re a genius, Hartley.”

Wes took a slow sip of his drink. “True—but I don’t follow.”

Max pulled his phone from his pocket and began hammering out a text. When he finished he looked at Wes again. “I just told her I’m meeting her at Bloomingdale’s after my breakfast meeting tomorrow. In a fitting room. Where I’m prepared to ask her what she’d like.”

Wes laughed and shook his head. “That’s one way to go about it. Feel free to bring the book if you want to reference a specific scene.”

“Speaking of books…” Max said, but Wes cut him off.

“There’s a line at the signing table. I’ll catch you after?”

He didn’t wait for Max’s response. He was on too much of a high from the Q&A. Now wasn’t the time to get into book two—or the current lack thereof. He had a line of women waiting for him, and he wasn’t one to disappoint.

Wes scrawled his name across the title page along with his signature phrase, “Enjoy the journey.” He slid the book back to the woman, enjoying the flush that grew in her cheeks as her hand accidentally brushed his.

“Thanks for coming out tonight,” he said, lifting his rocks glass in a gesture of cheers before he threw back what was left of his scotch. The woman from the Q&A—the one so curious about his research—bit her lip and smiled, glancing behind her to the handful of other women still in line. When she looked back at him, she swiped a tongue over her painted bottom lip and tucked her blond waves behind her ear.

“Will you be staying for drinks after the signing?” she asked, her tone full of innocence, but her blue eyes brimming with heat.

Wes noted his empty glass and gave her one of his patented “Wes Hartley author” grins.

“It does look like I’m in need of a refill,” he said.

She pressed her hands to the table and leaned forward, whispering in his ear, “Then I guess I’ll see you at the bar.”

“I guess you will.”

No sooner had she ducked out of line than the next woman placed her book on the signing table. “Can I get a picture with you?” she asked.

“Oooh, I’ll take it for you!” the woman behind her said. “If you’ll take one of me and Wes with my phone when you’re done!”

And there she was—the woman without a question at all who just wanted to talk oral sex—rounding the table before he had time to think. And then she slid onto his goddamn lap. Wes glanced toward the bar where Max still sat, and the man raised both a brow and a glass. Wes shrugged. This was the part of the job he’d never get tired of.

He encouraged the woman to wrap her arms around his neck, then tilted her down into an almost kiss.

She gasped. “This is just like that first time in Natasha’s apartment where Ethan tells her the relationship can’t move forward and then he lays her out on the butcher block table and—”

“The oral sex,” Wes said.

She swallowed hard, apparently unable to respond as she squirmed against his thighs.

** I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW **
Lately, I have seen and read (a few) books where our heroes are in the center of the book lover porn world, you know, now they are writers, readers, agents, editors, and so on. And I think they (books) are so so good to enjoy. Besides, so far I have loved the Kingston Ale House series —the three books, which BTW have new covers that are OMG! So yes, I am not new in the KAH world, but if you are, then it is nothing bad because they ARE standalone books, and there are just three of them so you can catch up easily.

In the third book we have a peculiar sexy/cute couple who, before everything changed, knew each other in a different way. Annie is Wes' best friend's older sister —they have a very difference perspective or notion about HEA, she believes in them but mostly she believes that HEA books happen in real life, and he does not —he is more like enjoy-the-moment-with-whatever-her-name-is kind.
Annie is a book-lover, book-blogger, book-everything who has her own bookstore <3, she is very independent, passionate, and with her head (a little) in the clouds when it comes to realizing that what she has in front is a well-known-HEA-without-the-endings. Anyways, she was very appealing for me, because there are parts of her that made me feel very close to her feelings.
Wes, what can I say about his guy? He is a writer who is in a writer's block but who seems to have found his muse. He is half cute, and half dumb (because come on guy! You must do something and not just sit there waiting for others to do something in order to have what you want) but he is sexy.
So when their worlds collide is when the real magic starts.

He'd never seen himself as the hero type, but for one night he could play the part if it meant one night with her.

I liked the plot, AJ has one different for each book. And they are fantastic! How both went from secret to exposed, how they handle all the adversities that came in their way and how everything worked at the end. It is a cute, sexy, hilarious story that will surprise you with every twist. HEAs are everywhere for you to enjoy, just take a chance with this series and you will develop feelings (fall in love with them) for sure. Enjoy!

AJ Pine writes stories to break readers’ hearts, but don’t worry—she’ll mend them with a happily ever after. As an English teacher and a librarian, AJ has always surrounded herself with books. All her favorites have one big commonality–romance. Naturally, her books have the same. When she’s not writing, she’s of course reading. Blog Tour | Review: SIX MONTH RULE by A.J. Pine + Excerpt + Giveaway

Welcome again to another blog tour, this time I'm happy to have you in my #ReviewTourStop for an incredible story!
Six Month Rule by A.J. Pine :)

Title: Six Month Rule
Author: A.J. Pine
Series: Kingston Ale House, #2
Publication Date: July 18, 2016
Genres: Adult, Entangled, Select Contemporary, Romance

She created the game, but the rules are about to change.
Taurus: Hold fast to your single-minded nature today—no matter how long her legs or how lush her red lips.
Gemini: You were a shining star last night, but reality can be a real—well, you get the picture. Just remember: Tall, dark, and British equals no corner office for you.

Will Evans never wanted a reason to stay.

Holly Chandler wants nothing more than for him to go.

But neither one is prepared for what can happen in six months. Because it doesn’t matter what you want when what you need walks out the door.

Holly’s been busting her butt to make partner at Trousseau and there’s no way she’s going to let some stuck-up British arsehole get in her way—no matter how drop-dead gorgeous he is. But that doesn’t mean she can’t have a little fun in the process. She has a six-month rule: date just long enough for the honeymoon phase to wear off, then walk away before anyone gets hurt. If they both know the rules up front, walking away will be a piece of cake. Or maybe not…

*SIX MONTH RULE is a stand alone book in a connected series.

#Excerpt
Holly’s eyes trailed from the soft, black leather of the loafer to the cuff of the slate-colored pants expertly cut to fit these legs and these legs only. Then there was the jacket and vest, same color, each buttoned snug over a lean, taut torso. Holly thanked the stars, every last constellation, for perfectly tailored suits. And vests. What was it about a man in a vest?

“Thank you.”

Holly’s head shot up to see the words directed at an older woman whose finger depressed the door-open button. The voice was deep and buttercream smooth. And was that…an English accent?

Her ovaries might have just gone supernova, but she could hold it together for one more floor. Holly Chandler wasn’t a girl to lose it in an elevator, no matter how much those two words, spoken in that voice, with that accent, melted her insides.

This drought was going to kill her. Maybe another go with Charlie wasn’t the worst idea.

When the circle of white light lit up the number five, Holly let out a long breath. The doors opened, and she exited with all the other folk who were on their way to a caffeine boost. As she did, she caught Mr. Ferragamo checking out her four-inch peep-toe booties, and a surge of confidence jolted her back to the Holly she knew she was.

“Like what you see?” she asked, stopping to glance down the length of her own legs to where his eyes still rested. This brought his head up with a snap, and a dark wave tumbled onto his forehead before he finger-combed it back into place.

He cleared his throat. “You pull off last season’s design well enough, but I’d have gone for the red,” he said, and those words, despite the velvet ribbon they were tied up in, pieced her insides right back together.

Holly smoothed out a nonexistent wrinkle from her dress as she brushed past him, ovaries once again intact.

“Ass,” she muttered under her breath, and then let the promise of a hazelnut double pump patch up the tiny puncture in her bubble. Of course she could pull off last season’s design. She could rock the hell out of last season’s freaking design, because all she could afford right now were the free samples. But in less than an hour that would all change. The first thing she would buy with her new salary would be next season’s Jimmy Choos. But they sure as hell would not be red.

Review
** I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW **
I was really looking forward to read a new story by A.J. because I liked the one I'd read, so when this book appeared I couldn't say no to read it. And if you haven't read any of her stories you surely could give them a try. This book can be read as a standalone but THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY was great even if it took me a little to finish it, so if you read it before or after SIX MONTH RULE is not a big deal.

This time we have Will Evans and Holly Chandler. Holly is determined to have what she wants any way she wants, and no-one can stop her of get it; I like girls with personalities and positive attitudes so reading her life was fascinating. And then there's Will, he's bloody sexy -at least that's how I dreamed him; as Holly he has his priorities well-set. Both have similarities when it comes to the way they do and make things, but in other aspects they're completely different, along the story we can crystal-clear see why opposites attract even when stars are not in their favor. But the way in which everything goes in their life takes their love-story to a new level. From the beginning their personalities collided, and as the time goes they start to spend more and more time together, something that develops to become full aware of new things, things they didn't know they wanted until it was too late... or not.

Fall in love is not something any of us can control, and when we see some people just trying to not fall, sometimes that's kind of funny because of what they do to deny it even if it's already settled; but at the same time we have a completely different story -not in this book- because when we know/see people who actually is not in love but infatuated, okay, that's not funny at all, due to all the bad things that situation can lead to, or just the bad decisions they could make/do when they're in that period of time when all seem right.

Anyways, SIX MONTH RULE has many things I like/love, a plot with an intriguing twist, characters with personalities that make such a good story, situations that lead to others in a fantastic way, people that fit together even if they didn't think they were destined, etc, etc. It let me wanting more, because I think six months were too short for my liking, but I know why there wasn't more time and I understood but still don't like. Okay, so, I know there are a plenty of books with... similarities to this one, but is A.J. who we're talking about, she can give you twists that can catch you off guard so far.

Rules are made to break them. If you create them you have to respect them. Rules are there for something. Etc, etc. But at the end, whatever you do with said rules, and however things end when you break or respect them, love can't be ruled.

SIX MONTH RULE is a light, sexy, funny, sweet contemporary romance that everyone has to try. And A.J. is becoming one of my favorite authors because she can create such amazing things. Her writing in this book was awesome. I love these characters so what else can I say? Just that you could read it and see how things are.

Book: +5/5 stars

How far will one man go for the woman he’s loved since high school?

Jamie Kingston has been Brynn Chandler’s best friend since middle school. Only once was their friendship tested—when Brynn gave Jamie a single kiss. Since then, they’ve had an unspoken agreement never to cross that line again, and she’s ready to let go of the past and move on.

But their time alone brings old hurts to the surface, and Brynn has to decide if the one that gotaway lies at the end of the journey or if he’s been by her side all along.

EXCERPT
“Looking for something?” he asked. The rest of the party’s attention had gone back to the bride and groom who were getting ready to cut their cake, and Jamie and Brynn had a rare moment of privacy at a table full of strangers.

“My…” But then she saw his hand, palm up on the table, her lime wedge resting in it. He raised his arm and changed his grip so he was pinching the fruit between his thumb and forefinger, and he reached it toward her mouth.

Her teeth pierced the lime’s flesh, and then she sucked. Jamie’s finger rested on the corner of her mouth, and on the other side, his thumb. She could almost taste his skin if not for the sweet bitterness of the lime. Before he lingered at her lips too long—and really any amount of time was too long—she gripped his wrist and pushed it away as she released his offering from her lips.

“Foggy,” she said, and Jamie’s brow furrowed. “S’foggy in my head,” she explained and hoped he’d be able to translate whatever she was thinking into something that made sense. “You gonna drink that?” she asked, and reached for the full shot sitting on the table in front of him.

With blinding speed he downed the shot himself—completely ignoring the lime.

“You, Sleepy B, have had enough.”

“Jean,” she said.

“Who’s Jean?”

She shook her head. “I’m not Sleepy B, silly.”

Jamie chuckled. “I’m sleepy,” he said, his voice soft and warm, like Brynn could snuggle into it.

“Mmmm…” she said. “I wanna snuggle with your voice.”

Wait. What?

“You’re hammered,” he said, laughing again.

“You’re screwed,” Brynn countered, and then she laughed so hard she snorted. “Do you get it? Hammered and screwed? Now someone just needs to get nailed.”

More snorting ensued as Jamie’s eyes widened. She was hammered. Plastered. Screwed. Nailed. All of it—three sheets to the wind plus a pillowcase and maybe a duvet. She knew because even with her glasses on, Jamie was fuzzy around the edges. She knew because she didn’t normally say things about snuggling with his voice, and she certainly didn’t have a habit of sucking fruit from between his fingers and wanting to devour him in the process.

So this was how it was going to be from here on out? Alcohol working as some sort of truth serum? Well, she was going to do something about that, and by something she apparently meant vomiting out more truth.

“James?” she asked, doing her best to fake composure. Because this was important.

“Sleepy Jean.” He nodded, seeming proud of his ability to overcome his own tipsiness to call her by the correct nickname.

“I think you should know that, mostly against my will, there were a couple of times in the past two days when I maybe, kind of, probably thought you were sexy.”

Good Lord. She was Mr. freaking Darcy.

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

I loved it! From cover to cover; I couldn't put it down. The One That Got Away is the first book in The Kingston Ale House series or trilogy -I don't have idea. I loved the cover too, it's so colorful and so beautiful. Anyway, it's written by A.J. Pine, this is the first time I've read a book by her, and it was so good that I'm adding more by her in my to-read list.

I'm always up for a best friend romance, most of the time they end in a happy ending and that's what I like. Fall in love with the person who knows you even better than yourself? I really like this kind of books because they're fun, sweet, and sexys.

It's written in dual POV, so along the book we can know the story between both of them from different POVs. Brynn and James -or Jamie, have been best friends since high school -since a long time. One night, ten years ago, he had the chance of kiss her -and he did it, of course-, something that changed the things between them; so, Jamie has been in love with Brynn since before the kiss, but due to his parents' separation -in the past- he was even more afraid of loss her, so he decided -for both of them- that they'd be just friends. But as I said, things changed -not in a bad way. They've kept their friendship for years, until the day he decided he wants her, and confess his love, what happens? That's the best part! There are other characters, for example, Brynn's younger sister, she was so funny! Every time she was in the scene she made me smile. In general, they were pretty good.

Overall, it was a really good best-friend romance, it's full of so much sweet scenes and interactions. It's a light/adorable read. So I'm looking forward for anything that comes in this series.
