Series: Forever
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Expected publication: May 17th, 2016

Synopsis

For some people, silence is a weapon. For Mallory “Mouse” Dodge, it’s a shield. Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it’s been four years since her nightmare ended, she’s beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.
Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone—spending her senior year at public high school. But of all the terrifying and exhilarating scenarios she’s imagined, there’s one she never dreamed of—that she’d run into Rider Stark, the friend and protector she hasn’t seen since childhood, on her very first day.
It doesn’t take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she’s not the only one grappling with the lingering scars from the past. And as she watches Rider’s life spiral out of control, Mallory faces a choice between staying silent and speaking out—for the people she loves, the life she wants, and the truths that need to be heard.

EXCERPT

Mr. Santos appeared at the front of the speech class like there had been a trap door in the ceiling he’d fallen out of. That took talent. “All right, kiddos. We’re going to start class off with a little exercise.” He clapped his hands together, startling the boy in the front of the room that had already drifted off to sleep. “When it comes to public speaking, practice is key. The more you do it, the easier it gets. Trust me.”

A tingling started in my fingers as I straightened.

“When I was your age—”

“A century ago,” someone muttered.

Santos shot the kid a droll look. “Cute. Anyway, when I was your age a few decades ago, the thought of talking in front of a bunch of people made me want to vomit.”

“Yikes,” murmured a girl.

There was a good chance I was going to hurl, myself.

“So it was something I had to work at. We all do. That means we’re going to kick off with a quick introduction.”

“Oh, s—,” Rider muttered under his breath. He of all people would know why this was impossible for me.

Santos continued, oblivious to the fact that I was staring at him with my eyes peeled so wide it was like I no longer had eyelids. “Each of you will stand up, face the class, give us your name, and tell us one thing you like—keep it classy, folks—and one thing you don’t like. Again, PG-rated.”

Laughter followed, but the blood was draining from my head so fast I felt dizzy. No. I had weeks to prepare for this. Talking in front of the class was not supposed to happen today or tomorrow or next week.

“Mallory.” Rider called my name in a whisper.

Hello! | ¡Hola!

English

Hello everyone, so even when a few days ago I finished this blog, just today I had time to write and give you all a proper welcome! So welcome to my new-little world, I hope you enjoy and take part of it.

First of all, I’m going to start introducing myself. My name is Nicole, I’m 19 years old and I’m from Chile —for those who don’t know about it, is located in the Western South America— I'm studying translation with a degree in languages and letters, I plan to work in a publisher or somewhere where I can make or do things related to books, either translating or editing them, or maybe do free-lance, no idea yet.

These days isn’t strange to see reviews blogs with giveaways and a lot of others things, so as my 2016 project I decided to do a bilingual blog, both English and Spanish —and of course, not just reviewing.

How did my love for books start? This started like 5 or 6 years ago in high school, and there was this girl —who was one of my closest friends until last year— she was the reader of our friends group and a day she told me to read a book —don't remember the name because I do know I didn't like it— I didn't want to at first because I didn't like to read! Well, I accepted...  then I —by myself— decided to read other... and other... and well, then another one, so not an amazing beginning but there it's. And of course, now I can't be a whole day without reading, a book or some story in Wattpad.

P.S. English isn’t my native language so I apologize if you see a grammatical error, this blog is going to help me to improve my English writing.
P.S. of P.S. I do PenPal so if someday you want to talk, just ask :)

Pdta. Si haces PenPal, solo pregunta :)

I don't want to do this new journey alone, so if there was a moment where you thought about doing something like this —not the bilingual part but the blog— and didn't do it, just ask! I'm looking for a co-administrator. for whatever you want, English or Spanish.
