#Excerpt
I look about the room again, and my attention falls right back on Graham. He runs his hand through his brown hair, which appears disheveled. But Graham himself looks calm and a little frightening. I’m so caught up in staring at him, I forget to drop my gaze or hide behind my menu when his eyes travel the room.

When his gaze locks with mine, a warm swell of feelings bubbles through me. My face heats as his eyes narrow slightly. I need to break contact. A blond waitress stops at his table, and I watch as he flirts with the girl. Laughing and touching her hand.

I think I’m going to be sick. He hates me. He really hates me. This is just a game to get back at me for what I did. I know, because I’ve played this same game with all sorts of people who did me wrong. Let me correct myself: the old me did.

“Sarah, do you have an idea of what you might like?” my uncle asks, causing me to blink and exhale loudly.

I glance down at the menu and then back at my uncle Paul. He’s smiling as if he knows I want something that isn’t on the menu. Of course, this only makes my face heat more. “I … um …”

“Excuse me,” a deep voice breaks into our conversation. “Evening, Mr. and Mrs. Issac, may I have a word with Sarah?”

My uncle Paul nods. My auntie Heather smiles. “Hello, Graham. How have you been, hon?”

“I’ve been good.”

Auntie Heather waves me off. “Go on, dear.”

I glance up at Graham and push away from the table. He helps me out of my chair, which surprises me, but it also makes me melt. Just a little.

This isn’t good for me. I will not get caught up in the game. I will not fall harder for Graham than is necessary. I need to let these feelings I have for him go. Get some closure and be done.

He guides me out into the garden area, where blue and white flowers cascade around us and twinkly lights weave overhead. It makes me think of the perfect place to have a wedding. “It seems we’re going to keep running into each other,” Graham says in an irritated tone.

I flinch. “I suppose so. Wait, why? Aren’t you returning to school? Oh God, is your mom sick or something?”

Graham glares at me. “No, my mom is perfectly fine. I’m just not returning to school right now. I’ve got some things I have to take care of, which is none of your concern. Figured the decent thing to do was to warn you. So we might as well get used to this. Us seeing each other. We can pretend we don’t know one another. So I won’t say your name or hello. You can do the same.”

I drop my gaze to my feet and sigh. “Okay. If that’s what you want I understand.”

“Jesus, Sarah, you ripped my heart out and handed it back to me mangled. What did you expect here?”

I shake my head. “Nothing. I know what I did was wrong. Hurting you will be one of my many big regrets, but I can’t focus on that. So, for what it’s worth, I’m sorry.” I feel the hot sting of tears sliding down my face. I will not look Graham in the eye so he can see the effect he has on me. So I swipe my hands against my cheeks and pretend I’m just brushing my own hair out of my face. Then I head off to the restroom.

Trust me, I want to get a glance of his face the moment I confess that hurting him was a huge mistake. But I can’t. Doing so would leave me more open to his wounding words than ever. What if he said something cruel like, “Good, that’s what you get.” Believe me, I know it’s all on me, but to know that I’d ruined any shot with him forever? To confirm how much he hates me? It would probably kill me. What’s worse, I feel like he was the only one here who got closure. How the hell can I possibly move on while I feel like my heart was thrown in a blender and then served right back to me? Heart à la mode, anyone?

** I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW **

I was really waiting for this book, mostly because I wanted Graham and Sarah's story after what happened between them in the first book, even if I hated her at first. It can be read as a standalone, but we see more of the characters from the first book. And if you already read Bryce, you and me know they have a past, one where he was left with a broken heart the moment she got out of his life, but he moved on... or at least tried to. Now, he's back at home due to... some problems he have made. And it seems the city is too small for them to not bump into each other.

He still cares for her, she does too; despite what happened, what happens and what will happen... their feelings are there; he thinks maybe is because they didn't have the right closured. But love is something no-one can control even Graham who has a serious problem with losing control. She just wants to live her life without the problems her parents left her with, she's moved on and wants it to stay the same. But when she sees Graham, the only guys she's truly fell for, all what she thought and most important, what she felt, are back in the game.

I liked how Sarah seemed to grow-up and finally had her feet on the ground after all what she's been through; in the first book she was a... brat. However, in this book I had certainly esteem for her, and reading her POVs helped a lot. On the other hand, Graham seemed to... be the opposite. But as I said, he still cares for her, and that's what put them together again. Yet, their story is not as easy as it seems, she still has feelings for him, yes, but... she's not really sure about his feelings.

Graham is a swoon, cute and intriguing second chance romance. If you haven't read any of the Scandalous Boys books, which are two so far, if should give them a read, they have sexy boys who have their moments where you can surely swoon for. And I loved how Bryce and Maddie's story ends or continues in this book.

Title: Bryce
Author: Natalie Decker
Series: Scandalous Boys #1
Publication Date: February 22, 2016
Publisher: Swoon Romance
SYNOPSIS
Bryce Matthews doesn’t do the whole nice boyfriend thing. Chocolates and flowers—girls can forget all that. And he certainly doesn’t care about the gossip and rumors that follow him at school and around town. If anything, the talk amuses him. Bryce isn't lacking in confidence. He knows himself and he knows his limits. One of those hard limits is Madison Issac. Bryce can never have her, and he's perfectly fine with that. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality anyway.
Madison Issac thought she was a pretty good judge of character. But she's surprised at how gentle and comforting resident bad-boy and next-door neighbor Bryce Matthews is when we finds her crying in the park.
Maybe there's more to Bryce than people think? So Madison begins to wonder.
Can a guy like Bryce ever change his ways?
Can a girl like Madison really be into a guy like Bryce?
With hearts and reputations on the line, this kind of love can be scandalous.

REVIEW
** I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review **

Bryce is a Young Adult/New Adult story and the book number one in the Scandalous Boys series by Natalie Decker. Also, it’s the first book I’ve read by her and I completely fell in love with it. By the way, I like when there are boys in the covers, and I know I do not have to judge a book by its cover but, did you see the boy? He is gorgeous, and has really beautiful eyes, from the beginning —synopsis included— I liked it. Anyway, Bryce plunges us into the funny, and lovely story about Bryce and Madison’s lives; it’s a dual POV book, what made more enjoyable my read, because I had —and you’ll have— the chance to know, and understand all their thoughts, and feelings by first hand.

Let’s start.

At first, we can see that their relationship is based on a mutual hate, all this due to some things that happened when they were kids —nothing bad, just normal kid things; those actions from their pasts take them to the point that they cannot be around without say or do anything to upset the other, but they’re neighbors and there’s a reason that makes harder for her to keep herself away, she has a really big crush on his best friend, Graham, so yeah, she hangs around Bryce a lot; I’m admitting it, that made my reading more satisfactory —all their interactions plunged me more and more in the plot and that’s something good.

While Madison’s been secretly in love with a boy who just sees her as a little sister, and if I’m honest with you, he’s just using her because she’s a smart girl, and everyone knows it; Bryce’s been living his life as he wants, doing what he wants —which sometimes gets him in trouble—, and without caring for what other people say.

Then, when Madison’s annoying cousin comes to live with her and her family, she’s put aside, seeing how her cousin takes almost everything from her, including Graham. Here’s when Bryce comes to her life and all starts to change between them. Madison learns that you don’t have to judge a person from rumors you hear. And Bryce realized that Madison isn’t the prissy girl he thought she was.

Bryce is sexy, sweet —even when he’s not admitting it—, bad —in a good way—, funny, kind, and has a lot of love to give.

Bryce can never have her, and he's perfectly fine with that. Sometimes the fantasy is better than the reality anyway.
But a good love story cannot be so easy, where's the fun in getting together without a little drama on it? Madison and Bryce’s love story demonstrates that even when love does appear when you don’t expect it, and makes you go through some bad things to get it —plus those secrets and people that attempt in destroy what you’ve just realized you can have, all that worth if at the end you can be with the person that makes you a happy, and better person.

See how both of them accept and confess to themselves their real feelings for the other it’s a read I highly recommend. Not only if you’re in the NA/YA thing but if you’re looking for a good story. Not an original next door boy love? Maybe, but Bryce is one of those book that you must give a chance because doesn’t matter if there’s not many original differences from others, it can take you beyond.
