I Do, I Don't #1
Publication Date:

The Bachelor meets The Runaway Bride in this addictive romance novel about a reality TV producer falling for her would-be star: a Montana heartthrob who wants nothing to do with the show.

Jordan Carpenter thinks she’s finally found the perfect candidate for Jilted, a new dating show about runaway grooms: Luke Elliott, a playboy firefighter who’s left not one but three brides at the altar. The only problem? Luke refuses to answer Jordan’s emails or return her calls. Which is how she ends up on a flight to Montana to recruit him in person. It’s not Manhattan but at least the locals in Lucky Hollow seem friendly . . . except for Luke, who’s more intense—and way hotter—than the slick womanizer Jordan expected.

Eager to put the past behind him, Luke has zero intention of following this gorgeous, fast-talking city girl back to New York. But before he can send her packing, Jordan’s everywhere: at his favorite bar, the county fair, even his exes’ book club. Annoyingly, everyone in Lucky Hollow seems to like her—and deep down, she’s starting to grow on him too. But the more he fights her constant pestering, the more Luke finds himself wishing that Jordan would kick off her high heels and make herself comfortable in his arms.

#MyThoughts

This is not my first Lauren's book but this is definitely my first review for one of her books. And to tell the truth, I have liked her books so far. Therefore, this one did not disappoint me. The plot? It was incredible! Plus the cover is just amazing.

Anyway, I liked it that the main characters were not what I thought they were going to be, and that at the end, it worked for them. Although Luke was presented as a... playboy, not only he is sexy but also sweet and lovable. Moreover, the more Jordan discovers who he really is the more she cannot deny she is falling. And Luke? He does have a past but not because he wants, perhaps that is why he acts like he does in regards to Jordan. In short, it is an amazing book. And if you like sexy romance then this is your book.

Highly recommend it! And looking forward to the second book :)

Book Review"Truth Love By Kay Brown

August 07, 2017, 1 Comments | Comentarios

I was given a copy for an honest review
With her Creole roots and southern attitude, Trutheana is a true New Orleans woman. After moving from New York City, she's back in her old neighborhood, doing everything she can to further her independence. But between her weakness for men and a series of strange events, things go bad fast.
With three men in the wings, each having their own agenda, Truth insists on making her own rules. Street savvy and strong-willed, she has to choose wisely the path she takes. But when she finally gets a place of her own, her past reappears in a violent way. Death and murder seem to be all around, so it's time to get out of town again.
Truth hightails it back to the Big Apple, taking her new love, Kenneth, her best friend, Kaya, and sister Franky along with her. After a personal betrayal, Truth realizes she might have just made the biggest mistake of her life.
In order for Truth to make it out of this situation alive she will have to trust the one person whom she thinks will have her back….But will they?

Review
First I would Like to say thank you to Kay Brown for sending me a copy! Now to the best part, my review. Our leading lady Truth is a strong and independent woman. She's quick witted and feisty with her good looks it's easy for her to steal your man. But besides that, Truth is a woman who has clearly been hurt and has trouble showing love. This is why I think she doesn't know when she is being tricked with false affection. Truth is so focused on not being used she can't see who really loves her. This story is fast paced and well written. While reading this I couldn't put it down, I needed to know what was going to happen. The down side to this novel is that it was over before I wanted! I can't wait for a sequel.  Also, I knew Kenneth was a snake when she went to his house and didn't see nothing that connected to his "job", that's where she slipped up. But I'm glad that I had the chance to read this. It was amazing and I would recommend it to my friends and followers. So If your reading this right now go get your self a copy! - Nia Houston

About The Author
Kay Brown is a proud New Orleans, Louisiana, native who writes drawing heavily from her past experiences, from seeing a lot in the streets to surviving the life altering Hurricane Katrina. Despite her various life challenges and personal setbacks, Brown went on to receive her associate degree from a local community college. It was there where Brown first discovered her love for writing and finally tapped into her creative spirit. However, it was after she returned to New Orleans after being displaced two years due to Hurricane Katrina that she began taking writing more serious and using it as a mental reprieve.
Truth Love is both a project of passion and a therapeutic release for Brown. Although her work is considered urban/street literature, Brown wants her books to be both entertaining and a personal, mental escape from whatever problems readers maybe going through at the time. Expect to read and see more novels from Brown in the future.
Truth Love is best described as an urban street drama with a spiritual twist. Brown is a loving wife and mother of two daughters, one son, and dedicates a lot of her down time speaking to young inner-city girls, who have experienced teen pregnancy, rape, and other personal issues, about finding their voice and developing self-esteem and the strength to live out their dreams.

 Eye Candy by Jessica Lemmon!

Title: Eye Candy
Author:
Jessica Lemmon
Series:
Real Love #1
Publication Date:
July 25, 2017

Don’t trust lust at first sight. One woman chooses reality over fantasy in this friends-to-lovers romance.

Jacqueline: As an adult woman—and the vice president of a marketing firm—I shouldn’t be waiting by my office window to ogle the mystery man who jogs by every morning at 11:45. Sure, he’s a gorgeous, perfect specimen of the human race, but I can’t bring myself to hit on a total stranger. However, my best friend–slash–colleague Vince Carson thinks I should do more than talk to the guy. In fact, he’s borderline obsessive about “getting me laid.” (His words.) But the more time we spend together, the more it’s clear: The one I’m falling for is Vince.

Vince: Jackie Butler’s got it bad for some pompous, over-pumped A-hole who struts his stuff past her window. That doesn’t bother me. I know she deserves nice things. What does bother me is that she friend-zoned me big-time last year, so I can’t ask her out myself. But what if I set her up with Mr. Steroids? Then, when he breaks her heart, I can swoop in and save her like the nice guy I am. Everything’s going according to plan . . . until we share a ridiculously epic kiss. And suddenly anything is possible.

#MyThoughts

This is my very first book by Jessica and it was completely amazing. And I know, covers are not the book but did you see this cover? It so sexy, I really love it. Anyway...

EYE CANDY is exactly what I needed, a book that may surprise you with every turn it takes. And it also has the friends-to-lovers characters. Moreover, you got both sides of their story which helps a lot when it comes to understanding why they say/do what they say/do. As you can see it has that something that may make an incredible reading.

Jacque seems to be the girl who knows what she wants, but who actually does not do or who does not want to accept it, which helps with the trama of the book. However, she has a kind-of outgoing persona which leads to take some decisions that may change her status regarding relationships --plus, she has not had the best of the experiences when it is about love and relationships so it makes it more interesting. And She is also a very appealing character when you get to know her. And then there is Vince, who if it was not for the synopsis I would not have seen him coming LOL. Okay, so he has decided that he wants to take the next step when it comes to his love life but who also has created an strange but fascinating plan to accomplish it. One that involves a certain someone who he thinks is not ready or who has not realized he is what she needs yet --according to him.

These characters are the perfect combination/couple for this type of book, and reading about the development of their relationship is what you may need because it is lovely and cute but it is also sexy and charming. And something I know for sure is that you will develop a feeling for the characters --good or bad. Because they lead you towards it. Overall, this is an incredible reading and is completely worthy. Highly recommended.
