Title: Tempting Mr. Wrong
Author: Kerri Carpenter
Release Date: June 13, 2016

A little temptation never hurt anyone…
Lance Townsend craves freedom after years living a structured existence in the Army. But just as he’s about to start on his bucket list, Lance receives an unexpected request: check in on his goddaughter. The problem? The adorable little girl’s aunt is the one woman he’s never been able to forget.

Carly Quigley can’t believe her brother’s best friend, the man who jilted her years ago, is at her door. He claims her brother asked him to check in on her niece and their fixer-upper, but all either of them can focus on is their undeniable attraction. Carly knows Lance is counting down the hours to leave, which makes him the wrong man for her. Unfortunately, the wrong man has become oh-so-tempting.

EXCERPT

“Thank you,” she whispered.

“For what?” He was shocked to hear his breathing sounded so labored.

“For giving me the afternoon off. For making that cake. For helping with Mya when I botched everything. It’s a lot easier with you here.” She blushed. “A couple days ago, I would have never thought I’d say that.”

He kissed the tip of her nose. “Yeah, you didn’t seem too thrilled to see me.”

“No, I was…okay.” She laughed. “I wasn’t. To be honest, I was still thinking about my brother’s wedding. I’d never understood why you’d left me so abruptly back then.”

Warning bells sounded in the back of his mind at the mention of her brother. His best friend. It felt like a broken record was playing on repeat in his brain. And that record was titled Off-Limits, Off-Limits, Off-Limits.

Carly must have picked up on his thoughts. She took a small step back. “I know, you don’t want to kiss me. You don’t see me that way.”

He took her in from her swollen lips to the sexy business suit she still wore, to all of that amazing hair. Her eyes were practically twinkling, lighting up her fair, flawless skin. Did she have any idea how gorgeous she was? How appealing she was?

He shook his head. “That’s the problem, Carly,” he began, his voice coming out in gruff spurts. “I do see you like that. I’ve been fighting it since I got here.” He ran a hand through his short hair. “Hell, probably since Chris and Gretchen said I do.”

Her mouth fell open.

“I tell myself over and over that it’s wrong to think about you the way I do.”

A small smile played over her lips. “How do you think about me?”
He swallowed hard. “In a way that would definitely make your brother sucker-punch me in the face.”

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

I’m always happy to read a new Entangled Love Struck Romance, because in general they’re really good and their plots are appeal enough, anyways, this time we have Kerri Carpenter, she’s not new in this book-world but this is my first time reading one of her books; and for you to know —Tempting Mr. Wrong is the second book in the Wrong Man series, and it’s a standalone so there’s no need to read the first one.

Kerri tells us about Lance and Carly’s lives… something I liked was the fact that this two characters are pretty familiar with each other —and this not due a one-night-stand— Lance is or was her brother’s best friend, so you know, when there’s a brother in the middle, those best friends always try to behave well with their best friends’ little sisters, sometimes it ends in a bad way but others… Carly’s brother died and now she, as his only family, has the responsibility of raise his little daughter. She’s totally fine with it because she loves her niece, but then Lance shows up. After finding out —in a letter— that his best friend asked him to take care of his daughter —and of his sister— if something would have ever happened to him, he knows he can’t let his best friend down, so before starting his “new life”, he decides to visit his goddaughter… and her God Mother. But temptations are everywhere and if you already have a story, trying to fight it back maybe is more difficult to do twice. I liked their relationship and how they were when Mya’s was around.

Tempting Mr. Wrong is a sweet, sexy, light romance. It has the exact mix to make you enjoy your reading. I completely recommend it if you enjoy second chance romances or just if you enjoy a good story. And plus, Kerri’s writing was incredible, she knows how to do it.

EXCERPT
“Who are you waiting for?” Knife Kid asks.

“That obvious, huh?”

“Jack, then. Screaming at him wasn’t enough?”

“He was the one who put the pictures of me all over school. Hell no, screaming isn’t enough.”

Knife Kid nods. “I saw the pictures. I had fun slashing them with my protractor. Nobody should be made fun of like that, I think.”

I don’t know whether to smile at how sweet he sounds or become extremely concerned at how creepy he sounds. I settle for a little of both just as Jack comes in. He walks right by and settles in his desk behind me. I turn and watch him take off his backpack.

“Hi.” I wave.

It takes him a moment to recognize me. Or a million. He focuses his gaze on me, then looks boredly to the window. He puts his chin in his hand, studies a pigeon in a tree with utmost intensity, and then all at once his eyes go wide. He swivels his head slowly back to me.

“You,” he murmurs.

“Me!” I chirp.

“What the hell are you doing in that?” he asks, eyes sweeping down to my chest, my legs, and up again.

“Damage control.” I smile. “Do you like it?”

“I’ve seen pigs dressed better.”

“Oh, I don’t doubt that, considering you see one in the mirror every morning.”

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

So when I was by the middle of the book, I realized I've already read it before, anyway, I didn't remember what the book was about so this isn't going to be a comparative review, however, this is a second version of the book so I think there are differences with the first version.

LOVE ME NEVER is the second version of Lovely Vicious (2013) writing by Sara Wolf. A young adult contemporary romance. I LOVE IT!! No kidding, it was a fantastic, incredible reading. I enjoyed from cover to cover, it catches you from the very beginning. And what more can I say? The plot was amazing. It's the first book in the Lovely Vicious trilogy.

Sara plunges us into Isis Blake's life, a sixteen years old girl who has been through a lot. And who's decided to not fall in love again, never. All this due to what happened the first and only time she did. But what once made you cry, now make you stronger. I really love her character, she was funny, sometimes I saw myself in her. Now, she's in a new school, new people, new "friends", but the most important -or not- there's a boy who remember someone from her past.

There are more characters, and there's one that OMG! But I don't want to ruin this book for anyone so just... yep, I hated one and I really enjoyed reading more about others. But all their different personalities make this book really good.

See why I love it?

And it has an epic end; Believe me, I was like WHAT?? WHY?!!? NOO!! YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING!!! HOW CAN IT BE THE END??? Anyway, I love it!

Overall, Sara's writing was the fantastic plus to the whole book. The plot was fantastic. The characters as well. Sometimes it has dual POV. And the CLIFFHANGER!

REVIEW
** I received a copy in exchange of an honest review **

That moment when you dust an old book -not that old. The first time I read this book -back in 2013- I was so fascinated by it, and have the chance of reread it? It was as good as three years ago. Both authors are pretty well-known so I'm not going to introduce them.

In that time it was a fresh, nice read. And reading it now, it was a fantastic contrast between what I remember from the first time and what I felt this time, you know? The character were different in almost every sense but at the same time they had something in common that made the whole book an enjoyable time. Bishop's problems and how he has to confront them -with and without help from others. The chance to see how he grew. And Penny, that girl was still as intelligent and determined as I remembered, she's not the typical female character, she knows what she wants and she knows that sometimes you have to make hard decisions. Also, we have the secondary characters, for example Gramps -I completely adored him.

Overall, it was a good, quick read, and I really enjoyed reading it. I liked Bishop's story -again. And how they had to work to have their "HEA" with all the drama, misunderstanding and self-discovery.

Release Day | Review: ROMANCING THE NERD by Leah Rae Miller

Happy #ReleaseDay to
Leah Rae Miller!

Dan Garrett has become exactly what he hates—popular. Until recently, he was just another live-action role-playing (LARP) geek on the lowest run of the social ladder. Cue a massive growth spurt and an uncanny skill at taking three-point shots in basketball and voila…Mr. Popular. It’s definitely weird.
And the biggest drawback? Going from high school zero to basketball hero cost Dan the secret girl-of-his-dorky dreams.
A tuba-playing nerd with an eclectic fashion sense, Zelda Potts’s “Coolness” stat is about minus forty-two. Dan turning his back on her and the rest of nerd-dom was brutal enough, but when he humiliates her at school, Zelda decides it’s time for a little revenge—dork style. Nevermind that she used to have a crush on him. Nevermind that her plan could backfire big time.
It’s time to roll the dice…and hope like freakin’ hell she doesn’t lose her heart in the process.

Don’t miss today’s Teaser Tuesday from Romancing The Nerd by Leah Rae Miller, the companion novel to The Summer I Became a Nerd, and which is available in stores and online today: April 5, 2016!

Logan says, “And we haven’t seen you at LARP, either. Planning on playing, like, ever again?”

“I just don’t have the time. It’s painful to talk about, dude. I hate it.” I’m not kidding, either. I miss the smell of duct tape and face paint, and the smell of fear that always accompanied my arrival.

“There’s a game tonight,” Logan says pitifully. And there’s another twist to the gut. I haven’t hung out with him in ages.

“I can’t. There’s this stupid fund-raiser thing I have to go to. Taxidermy Todd insists.” I shrug.

Logan punches me in the shoulder. “Come on, man. When was the last time you did anything for yourself? You have to have a little fun sometimes. YOLO.”

To be honest, I can’t remember the last time I went to a movie or played video games until dawn. I’m always on a schedule. Chatting with effyeahFinityGirl is something I have to do on the sly by hiding under the covers with my phone, or by waiting until my parents go to sleep. Would it really be so horrible to miss one little fund-raiser?

I take a moment before I answer, trying to remember the last time I got in big trouble. Finally, I decide I’m due for a little mischief. “Well, you know what they say, ‘Only the brave catch the worm.’ Fine. I’ll be there. But on one condition.”

I hear a sigh of frustration from Zelda, who’s been reading this whole time, and I cut my eyes at the back of her head. “What?”

“I can’t even begin to explain what’s wrong with what you just said, because it was such an amalgamation of stupidity.”

I open my mouth to deliver a scathing retort, but Logan speaks up, trying to defuse the tension. “What’s the condition?”

I decide to let Zelda’s comment roll off my back. Rise above, Garrett. I turn back to Logan. “You shall never say ‘YOLO’ again. Like, ever. Ever, ever, ever.

REVIEW
** I received an ARC in exchange of an honest review **

Romancing the Nerd is the second book in the Nerd series, and the second written by Leah; I really loved the first book in this series so of course I would read this one, actually, I was looking forward for it. It can be read as a standalone because the book is set not a long time after the first, but I suggest you to read The Summer I became a Nerd, and then this one.

Anyway, this time Leah plunges us into Dan and Zelda's lives; I liked their relationship/friendship in TSIBAN because they were so into each other, and now it was pretty funny how they tried to push one another's buttons all the time. The way in which they start talking to each others, the secrets and how they find out all -together. In some way, I think they needed all what happened -the good and bad. And other thing I liked was seeing Logan and Maddie (first book). Maddie was so funny as in the first one; and their romance is still as pretty as it was years ago.

Overall, it was cute romance, with the perfect mix of geeky. I recommend this one to everyone, because it was so good. The way I could see Dan and Zelda now as teenagers. The book was fantastic.
