#BookTag #2 | Conociéndonos 😉

December 27, 2016, 21 Comments | Comentarios

Si o no ¿cuál?

1. ¿Cuál fue el último personaje al cual quisiste golpear? ¿Por qué?
2. ¿Último libro con el cual reíste?
3. Si pudieras elegir un solo libro para leer el resto de tu vida, ¿cuál sería?
4. ¿Libro digital o en papel?
5. ¿Prefieres leer de día o de noche? ¿Por qué?
6. ¿Personaje literario favorito?
7. ¿A qué libro le cambiarías el final? ¿Por qué?
8. ¿Qué libro has leído más veces?
9. ¿Cómo eliges tu próxima lectura?
10. ¿Alguna vez te ha gustado más una adaptación que el libro?
11. ¿Chico malo o bueno?

PAGES: 220

What would you do if everything you thought to be true in your life were a lie?

Sixteen-year-old Angel Seriki is forced to face overwhelming truths about her so-called ordinary family when she meets Zander Black; a new student to her high school who is smart, charming and devastatingly beautiful. The revelations he uncovers to her about a danger that threatens to resurface from a past she never knew was her own, changes everything. Life as she knows it will never be the same again. In order to keep her family safe, she has no choice but to trust Zander, despite his connection to her enemy. He’s the only resource she has if she ever expects to understand the true reality of who and what she is. However, things become complicated when neither can ignore the magnetic energy between them. As their relationship and feelings deepen, so do the risks involved. She must now accept her fate, Even if that means giving up everything she knows, including being human.

Review:

Promising concept! Oleah, half lion, half human. I am an advent supernatural reader as well as young adult. And the concept of the book had me! I was very interested in reading the novel. When reading this book I was very pleased about the origins of the characters. I found the main character Angel to be a little naive and obvious. The romantic connection between Zander and her was okay. The pace of the novel was fast paced, perfect for this novel because it contained a lot of information. The one thing I didn't like was some of the dialogue. Sixteen-year-old that I know don't use certain terms. But all in all,  it was a cool read.
rate:3/5 stars

Michelle JohnsonThroughout my childhood, I was always told I had a very creative imagination. I was drawn to stories of mythical creatures and all things that would usually give my peers the heebie geebies. Shows like Tales from the Crypt Keeper and Buffy the Vampire Slayer were among some of my favorites.

I developed a strong passion for design and illustration, drawing the ideas that arose in my head and finding great excitement in bringing them to life. This led me to pursue a career in graphic design and marketing so that I could always use my creativity to the fullest.

I have always loved reading and the way a compelling story would allow my mind to absorb its detailed imagery. I began to use writing as a tool to bring my creative thoughts to fruition one day, which has brought me to this moment.

I'm a romantic at heart and a sucker for stories about true love which is reflected in my writing and helped bring the Oleah Chronicles to life. I hope you enjoy my first book and through it you experience the eccentric vision that began in my mind so long ago

Searching for answers to her predicament, she finds herself trusting Nicolae, a stranger with a familiar presence. Why does she feel so drawn to him? Will Nadia find answers to the questions about her past and take on her new role willingly? Or will she choose to remain in the dark and deny her destiny?

Review: If I had to use one word to describe this book it would be WOW! this was a great read. Tiera Rice has outdone herself. Her interpretation of the vampire culture is very original. And I do know vampire culture! I'm a die hard vampire fan and when I heard of this book I had to read it. I love the historic vibe the book gives. Ms.Rice did an excellent job with the time period jumps and did not confuse me. The book has an excellent flow. The plot is solid and the character is well developed. This book gives female readers a bad ass female to look up to. I recommend this book to all my readers and followers!!! And I look forward to the next installment.

Book Review : A Time To Reap By Jonas Lee

A Time To Reap,The Legend Of Carter Gabel By : Jonas Lee

~I received a copy for an honest review. ~
Paperback250 pages

A Time to Reap (The Legend of Carter Gabel, #1)
Pemberton Academy is not just a school, it’s a gathering place for the children of the future that are afflicted with Temporal Displacement and Telepathy; in short, time travelers and mind readers who have been diagnosed with this “disease.” The Academy is not all as it seems after an explosion nearly takes one of its classmates, but not before Carter Gabel rescues her by using an unknown symptom related to his described illness. An unsanctioned group called the Program begins taking notice as the two classmates exhibit stronger abilities when they are together. Carter's sense of reality begins to unwind as he learns more about his estranged father's involvement with it all.

Carter will have to overcome the past of his father leaving, the present of an unknown adversary hunting him down and a future that seems to change with each decision he makes. He will have to learn who to trust out of the people in his life if he wants to conquer the looming notion that the government may be hunting him down because of his developing abilities.

Review: When I first ran across this novel I was immediately interested. The cover is beautifully detailed and creative. This was my first time reading a time travel novel and am glad that it's my first, it left high standards in my mind. This book is very creative and interesting ! the characters are fresh and unique. I really enjoyed that the novel contained loads of details and is fasted paced. My favorite character has to be Carter, he is such a brave and caring person and you can see this with his relationship with Mo. At first, I thought their relationship developed really fast, but it works. All in all Mr. Lee has done an outstanding job! I totally recommend this book to people who enjoy time travel, romance, and action.

Rate: 4/5 STARS

Writing out of the Black Hills of South Dakota, Jonas likes coming up with new and creative worlds that speak to the plausible while remaining believable. With a fist-full of peanut M&Ms and a cup of coffee, he has written two novels about a snarky, supernatural teen able to time travel and more.

Beyond writing, Jonas has a gift for useless knowledge through watching trivia shows and a love for cinematic adventures. Music fuels his writing and you can see him actively on Spotify almost every day.

Oh, and let's not forget video games...he likes those too much if there is such a thing.

** I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW **

CAUGHT ON CAMERA is a different-hilarious/comedy romantic story. It also is the first book in the Hollywood in Muskoka series written by Madelle. My first book by her and I liked it.

COC is about a girl who must do what she does in order to get what she wants. Sadly, she is not very happy about it, until, there is a new opportunity which appears to be her best change to do it without any harm. The hero, I think he has a little problems with the trusting thing, he thinks she hurt him when she sold them, but I do not think so.

Anyways, both characters seem to have found what they were not looking for, and it happens to be the best thing that would ever happen to them. There is just this little fact that lies where involved from the beginning, however, if it is true love, then everything would be forgotten or everyone would be forgiven. That is so beautiful :')

Overall, I like it, even if I think it was kind of short because it is just a weekend in which the story happens, but if you see the whole perspective and idea of their story, everything has sense <3 I completely recommend it, because a cute, sexy and comic romance is never enough!

Book: +4 caught-in-love stars!

#MeetTheAuthor!

Madelle completed four novels before Ellora’s Cave Publishing Inc. contracted to publish her debut romantic suspense, Diamond Lust—republished as Diamond Hunter—and a sexy, short free read, The Next Big Thing, in 2010.

When Madelle realized her author voice is more suited to light, humorous contemporary romance, she went waaaay back to her teen years for the Hollywood in Muskoka series setting. Madelle, her sisters, and assorted pets enjoyed idyllic summers at a lake in the District of Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, named by National Geographic Traveler magazine as one of their top 20 Best of the World Must-see Places.

The Muskoka lakes’ forested shorelines are dotted with palatial properties owned by wealthy families and Hollywood celebrities. At sixteen, being neither rich nor famous, Madelle worked briefly as a chambermaid at the now-closed Delawana Inn, a local resort.

Madelle is retired from an engineering career in the federal public service and lives in Ottawa, Canada’s capital, with her husband. She tries to keep fit with cycling, Pilates, and yoga, and dreams of owning a waterfront cottage. Or at least a pool.

She tweets and posts on Facebook and Goodreads about Hollywood, filmmaking, Muskoka, and, of course, writing. She blogs the second Tuesday of the month at romancingthegenres.blogspot.com and occasionally on her own website.

Welcome everyone to our #ReviewTourStop for Three Simple Words by the amazing A.J. Pine!!! :)

Title: Three Simple Words
Author: AJ Pine
Series: Kingston Ale House #3
Publication Date: October 17, 2016
Genres: Adult, Entangled: Select, Contemporary Romance

She’s holding out for a happy ever after.

Annie
I know where to find my happily ever after—between the pages of a romance novel. It’s why I sell books, why I blog about them, and why I’ll never get disappointed by love.So what if my brother’s best friend from high school is now a bestselling author? Or that he just blew back into town on a Harley, filling out a pair of jeans like he never did before? Or that he’s agreed to do a signing at my bookstore on such short notice? Because despite all his adoring female fans, I kind of hated his book.
Wes
The last time I saw Annie Denning, she was a senior in high school, three years older than me and way out of my league.
Now I’m her last-minute date to a wedding, and what started as a night of pure fun has turned into something more real than either of us anticipated.
Annie is my muse. When I’m with her, my writer’s block fades away, and the words finally flow.
The only problem? She wants the fairy tale—her very own happily ever after—and anyone who’s read my book knows the truth. I just don’t believe they exist.

#SixMonths
She created the game, but the rules are about to change.

The second I met Will Evans in his three-piece suit with that hot as hell British accent, I wanted him.

That is...until he insulted my shoes and stole my corner office.

Now I have to work side-by-side with the surly British arsehole who just set my career back six months.

It's fine. That accent won't get to me, no matter how sexy it sounds when he asks permission to do things professionals shouldn't do. On the couch. In the corner office I still wish was mine.

Maybe we can't keep our hands off each other, but I'm sure as hell not falling for a guy who lives an ocean away. Because in six months, he's leaving for good.

I don't do broken hearts, but you know what they say...

There's a first time for everything.

Each book in the Kingston Ale House series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.

#Excerpt
“I think we have time for a couple more questions,” Wes said as he looked out onto a sea of smiling, beautiful faces. One of the perks of the job for sure.

A hand shot up from the center of the crowd, and Wes nodded toward the woman. She stood, blond waves tumbling over her shoulders and directing his eyes right to where her breasts swelled beneath her shape-hugging sweater.

His lips curved upward. She glanced down to where his gaze rested below her eyes and offered a coy smile of her own. Then she surveyed his form, starting from his head and traveling lazily to just below the belt. She raised her brows with what felt to him like approval. She glanced up, and he met her stare with unabashed boldness.

“You…have a question?” he asked.

“Yes,” she answered without hesitation. “Your hero, Ethan, is a very skilled lover in Down This Road. Tell me, do you write from experience or just base those scenes on extensive—research?”

He flashed her a roguish smile and leaned back against the signing table, running a hand through his light brown waves.

“I like to think of experience as research,” he said. “And I’m always looking to learn something new—for the sake of the next book, of course.”

The woman narrowed her stare and pressed her lips into a knowing smile.

“The oral sex!” a petite brunette with a pixie cut blurted from her seat before he could ask for the last question, and gasps and murmurs echoed among the seated crowd. “The oral sex scenes were my favorite,” she said with a slight tremble in her voice. “He wasn’t just a skilled lover but an attentive one. I think that’s one of the reasons why all those women were forgiving of his inability to commit. Because—because—”

“The oral sex,” Wes said, finishing her thought, and she nodded vigorously.

His agent, Max, shot up from his stool at the bar. “And, that’s it for questions, ladies. Let’s give Mr. Hartley here a few minutes to grab a drink, and then he’ll be signing for those of you who purchased books.”

Max ushered him toward the bar as he thanked the crowd for their patience.

“You really are an asshole,” Max said. “Seriously. You’ve fucking ruined sex for those of us with wives and partners who expect us to be able to do what Ethan can do. If you didn’t pack houses like this with readers willing to throw their money at you, I’d cut you loose right now.”

Wes ordered his drink and laughed. “I could do a how-to manual next if you want. Maybe a YouTube video? Or how about this? If you’re doing it wrong, ask her how the hell you can do it right.”

“Fuck you,” Max said. “It’s not that easy.”

Wes raised a brow. “Have you ever asked your wife what she likes?”

Max laughed. “You mean other than her personal shopper at Bloomingdales?” He went silent for a moment, and then his eyes widened. “Jesus, you’re a genius, Hartley.”

Wes took a slow sip of his drink. “True—but I don’t follow.”

Max pulled his phone from his pocket and began hammering out a text. When he finished he looked at Wes again. “I just told her I’m meeting her at Bloomingdale’s after my breakfast meeting tomorrow. In a fitting room. Where I’m prepared to ask her what she’d like.”

Wes laughed and shook his head. “That’s one way to go about it. Feel free to bring the book if you want to reference a specific scene.”

“Speaking of books…” Max said, but Wes cut him off.

“There’s a line at the signing table. I’ll catch you after?”

He didn’t wait for Max’s response. He was on too much of a high from the Q&A. Now wasn’t the time to get into book two—or the current lack thereof. He had a line of women waiting for him, and he wasn’t one to disappoint.

Wes scrawled his name across the title page along with his signature phrase, “Enjoy the journey.” He slid the book back to the woman, enjoying the flush that grew in her cheeks as her hand accidentally brushed his.

“Thanks for coming out tonight,” he said, lifting his rocks glass in a gesture of cheers before he threw back what was left of his scotch. The woman from the Q&A—the one so curious about his research—bit her lip and smiled, glancing behind her to the handful of other women still in line. When she looked back at him, she swiped a tongue over her painted bottom lip and tucked her blond waves behind her ear.

“Will you be staying for drinks after the signing?” she asked, her tone full of innocence, but her blue eyes brimming with heat.

Wes noted his empty glass and gave her one of his patented “Wes Hartley author” grins.

“It does look like I’m in need of a refill,” he said.

She pressed her hands to the table and leaned forward, whispering in his ear, “Then I guess I’ll see you at the bar.”

“I guess you will.”

No sooner had she ducked out of line than the next woman placed her book on the signing table. “Can I get a picture with you?” she asked.

“Oooh, I’ll take it for you!” the woman behind her said. “If you’ll take one of me and Wes with my phone when you’re done!”

And there she was—the woman without a question at all who just wanted to talk oral sex—rounding the table before he had time to think. And then she slid onto his goddamn lap. Wes glanced toward the bar where Max still sat, and the man raised both a brow and a glass. Wes shrugged. This was the part of the job he’d never get tired of.

He encouraged the woman to wrap her arms around his neck, then tilted her down into an almost kiss.

She gasped. “This is just like that first time in Natasha’s apartment where Ethan tells her the relationship can’t move forward and then he lays her out on the butcher block table and—”

“The oral sex,” Wes said.

She swallowed hard, apparently unable to respond as she squirmed against his thighs.

** I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW **
Lately, I have seen and read (a few) books where our heroes are in the center of the book lover porn world, you know, now they are writers, readers, agents, editors, and so on. And I think they (books) are so so good to enjoy. Besides, so far I have loved the Kingston Ale House series —the three books, which BTW have new covers that are OMG! So yes, I am not new in the KAH world, but if you are, then it is nothing bad because they ARE standalone books, and there are just three of them so you can catch up easily.

In the third book we have a peculiar sexy/cute couple who, before everything changed, knew each other in a different way. Annie is Wes' best friend's older sister —they have a very difference perspective or notion about HEA, she believes in them but mostly she believes that HEA books happen in real life, and he does not —he is more like enjoy-the-moment-with-whatever-her-name-is kind.
Annie is a book-lover, book-blogger, book-everything who has her own bookstore <3, she is very independent, passionate, and with her head (a little) in the clouds when it comes to realizing that what she has in front is a well-known-HEA-without-the-endings. Anyways, she was very appealing for me, because there are parts of her that made me feel very close to her feelings.
Wes, what can I say about his guy? He is a writer who is in a writer's block but who seems to have found his muse. He is half cute, and half dumb (because come on guy! You must do something and not just sit there waiting for others to do something in order to have what you want) but he is sexy.
So when their worlds collide is when the real magic starts.

He'd never seen himself as the hero type, but for one night he could play the part if it meant one night with her.

I liked the plot, AJ has one different for each book. And they are fantastic! How both went from secret to exposed, how they handle all the adversities that came in their way and how everything worked at the end. It is a cute, sexy, hilarious story that will surprise you with every twist. HEAs are everywhere for you to enjoy, just take a chance with this series and you will develop feelings (fall in love with them) for sure. Enjoy!

AJ Pine writes stories to break readers’ hearts, but don’t worry—she’ll mend them with a happily ever after. As an English teacher and a librarian, AJ has always surrounded herself with books. All her favorites have one big commonality–romance. Naturally, her books have the same. When she’s not writing, she’s of course reading. Then there’s online shopping (everything from groceries to shoes) and, of course, a tiny bit of TV where she nourishes her undying love of vampires and superheroes. And in the midst of all of this, you’ll also find her hanging with her family in the Chicago burbs.

Cemetery Tours By Jacqueline E. Smith

Book #1 I received an ARC for an honest review and that's what I plan to give!

26007061“Michael had learned the hard way that nothing good came from interfering in the affairs of the afterlife.”

“They’d never scared him, really.  When he was younger, he hadn’t known that there was anything different about them.  By the time he was old enough to figure out that no one else could see them, he was also old enough to realize that being dead didn’t turn people into monsters.  It just meant that most of them were lonely. ”

Cemetery Tours (Cemetery Tours #1)

Some secrets are best kept laid to rest.

At least, that's as far as Michael Sinclair is concerned. At twenty-seven, he has spent his entire life pretending that the ghosts he encounters on a daily basis do not exist. Now, if only the dead would let him rest in peace.

Unfortunately, that doesn't seem likely, especially after Kate Avery and her ailing brother, Gavin, move in next door. Kate and Gavin are haunted, and not by a dearly departed loved one. This spirit is aggressive, menacing, and harboring a dark resentment toward Gavin. In spite of every instinct advising him to walk away, Michael finds himself seeking to uncover the mysteries of Gavin's past and falling for the bright and lovely Kate. Yet competing for her affection is Luke Rainer, television's hottest celebrity ghost hunter and the only (living) person to know Michael's secret.

But the dead have secrets, too. Some will go to any length to withhold what should have gone with them to the grave, while others will risk everything to make their voices heard, even if that means putting another's life at stake. Now, for the sake of friends and strangers alike, Michael must choose between preserving his cherished anonymity and lending his aid to those for whom all hope seems lost.

Review: Cemetry Tours book one was amazing. I have never read a paranormal novel, mainly because they weren't my type. But the description and book cover drew me in. While reading I had so many questions and was trying to play detective to figure out why Gavin was so sick? Throughout the novel, you are entertained. The novel Cemetry Tours is comical , witty and fasted paced. I enjoyed that we didn't have to wait forever for Kate and Michael to find each other. There are so many twists and turns with this book that I absolutely didn't see coming! I couldn't put it down! I had to know what happened next. Love the plot and the characters so much! This book is amazing there are so many secrets and adventures! I totally recommend this book.
