** I RECEIVED AN ARC IN EXCHANGE OF AN HONEST REVIEW **
I think maybe the mood I have at the moment of reading any book affects a little the way I feel/think about it. However, this book was so fascinating that instead of being a lazy read it made me be with my eyes wide open so as not to lose a word of it.
Gold Rush, even the name might have caught you very well; this is my first time reading Jen's job and it definitely will not be the last one. It is a standalone but it also comes to be related somehow with one of her series.
Liza and Braden... they are just so perfect! But anyways, Liza is a very strong and determined girl whose life has not been anything but unreal -in a incredible way. Because I do not think I would ever be into skating/ice like her. YET her life seemed to be so real when it comes to how she reacted, the decisions she took and how she felt about things that I completely fell in love with her character. Plus, even when Liza was a child she knew it was in the deepest of her heart to be an ice skater, after all she had it in her blood. And Braden, he has totally entered my book-boyfriends-list, I really want one of my own. He is so alive, happy and easy-going; he gives Liza a new perspective of skating and dating/having a boy-friend, and that if you really try and want then it does not have to be bad. Both characters have had very different lives in general, but the more they know each other... the more they realized they have lots of things in common.
The plot was amazing, Jen did really make an excellent job with this book because I felt every single word, I was so focused on it that I did not feel the time went by; and it is because this book is so well-described, like Liza's dedication at what she does -I could totally feel and empathize with her. I have so many thoughts about this book that I do not really think I can put them all on paper, and I do not want to bore you so I will make it quick... you should -must- completely try this book even if you are not into YA (although I still think it is NA), this is a light, cute, sweet and beautiful story, maybe it could come to be a little cliché, but it represents so much more that you just forget about everything and really immerse yourself into it.

Jennifer Comeaux is a tax accountant by day, writer by night. There aren’t any ice rinks near her home in south Louisiana, but she’s a diehard figure skating fan and loves to write stories of romance set in the world of competitive skating. One of her favorite pastimes is traveling to competitions, where she can experience all the glitz and drama that inspire her writing. When she’s not writing, traveling, or calculating taxes, you can find her feeding her television addiction.

Great review, Nicole! This sounds like a very well written and compelling read! Right up my alley, too - I love romance books that include sport dynamics as well! Glad you liked it! :)
