Jess is good at keeping up appearances. She can play the enigmatic rock star's girlfriend. But Pete shouldn't play games with a girl who's been broken before...

This is my first book written by Crystal, it was a fantastic reading, and I don't think I made a mistake by not reading the three first book before Play Your Heart Out —I'll reading those anytime soon— but at the end I don't know if I would feel or think the same about Pete due to I didn't know exactly what had happened to him, there was a part where I was kind of angry at him for hurt —not in a bad way, but hurt— Jess's feelings, and I was really trying to understand him, and I got it when he finally opened his heart to Jess —and of course, me.

Crystal takes a girl who knows what she wants to do and to be plus a boy who's hurt and doesn't want people to enter. I would have liked the synopsis to be more intriguing —don't get me wrong, it captivated me and I was surely reading the book after reading it— but sometimes I like to get more surprises while I reading a book, in this case, I got a lot of them, but deep-down I'd have loved more.

Jess and Pete met in a... uncommon way, that's for sure; knowing what they want and what they have to promise each other —at least one of them really knows that— they come to an agreement, one that was supposed to work, because not feelings where allowed; but come on! Feelings are not something you can control, and the longer they spent together the more one of them fell —and really hard. But definitely what I liked most was the way they challenged each other to their furthest everything —Pete being who he was was always testing Jess's limits, and she was trying to get him to accept it.

As I said I'll reading the other books to know more about the other members of this famous band that I would have liked to know before. Overall, it was incredible, the plot made me be on the edge of my seat, that was a good thing; plus, Crystal's writing, how she gave turns —that I didn't expect— to the whole story, what can I say? It was an amazing base.
