Elizabeth Harmon
Anyway, Elizabeth plunges us into Amy and Misha's lives, this is not a book about a two persons who met and fell in love, nope, Amy and Misha do have story, they already know each other, and not just in a friendly way, they had a relationship before, so this is a second-chance book.
Sometimes, second chances are not so good, I mean, there are couples for who second chances don't end well because of the why they finished all in first place, however, Amy and Misha is another story, I think they really deserved this opportunity, even when they weren't sure about it.
Amy thought she has already decided what she wanted in her life, but when she received a call from someone from her past, all seem different; now all her life has changed in one way or another. She knows she can't just walk away from him, so her life is intertwined with his, again. Misha is all what she once wanted. And maybe her feelings for him haven't changed. Misha once was a famous skater, but now all that is done, or not? When you have known and done one thing for... all your life, and that comes to an end, try to do other thing can be very hard; he doesn't know what to do now, he's been doing and trying a few things, but all it's difficult when you still want what you can't have. Now, he has a chance to be back at skating, and he is going to use it no matter what.
Overall, I really liked the book, it was something new, I have never read something like this before, so it was an amazing read. Sometimes I didn't like Misha's reactions when it comes to his career as an skater, but I did understand why of all that (at the end). His relation with Amy was sweet; and see how they end together was fantastic. And of course, Elizabeth's writing was an amazing plus!

EXCERPT
The call in the middle of the night jolted Amy awake.
She grabbed the buzzing phone from her nightstand, and when she looked at the display, it took a moment for her sleep-muddled mind to grasp the name. Then she sat up. Her palms felt prickly and her heart began to pound. Was she dreaming? She had to be. She hadn’t heard from Mikhail Zaikov in twenty-two months. .
Before she could answer, the ringing stopped. The glowing face of her alarm clock showed that it was a little after three-thirty on Sunday…no, Monday morning. The first week of spring break. Fully awake now, she switched on the lamp and stared down at the phone. The blinking red light signaled a message. This was no dream. Misha had called her.
Why?
By mistake, of course. Butt-dials happened all the time. He must be somewhere, doing what one did at 3:30 in the morning, and had bumped his phone, causing it to accidently dial her number. A miracle he still had it, really. She would have thought he’d deleted it long ago. Her curiosity was piqued, but at the foot of her bed, her sleeping cat Milo stirred, a reminder that curiosity was bad for felines, and in this case, for females, too. Misha’s message would probably turn out to be noise and voices from some far-away nightclub, or worse, a bedroom. She reached for the light when the phone buzzed again. A text, this time.
She laughed harshly, thinking of the last text he’d sent. The one that came on the morning of her college graduation and said he was taking a job in Chicago, and leaving town pronto. Good-bye, good luck, thanks for the good times. The text that confirmed while she’d been serious about Misha, he didn’t feel the same. But the need to know why he was texting in the middle of the night was too strong. She opened the message.
